POWs were used as labour on the land as well as in heavy
industrial activity. This is one of the less well documented areas of POW
activity.
Manchuria was where the Japanese Army’s infamous Biological Warfare Unit 731 was
situated. Their activities seem to have concentrated on Chinese and Russian
POWs. |
